The art object consists of two sailors, Georgy Sedov himself, two sled dogs, barrels, nets, and a boat. In the center of composition, there is a carved board containing a story of the expedition.
This monument was unveiled on Red Quay on October 20, 2020. The idea belongs to the artist Alexander Menukhov; the work was done by Taibola team (Northern Art Festival).
Note: Georgy Sedov (1877-1914) was a Russian Arctic explorer. In 1912, Georgy Sedov organized an expedition to the North Pole, and during this expedition, he died.
