In the middle of September 2020, one of the first art objects made by Taibola (Northern Art Festival) was unveiled on Red Quay. The monument “Wooden Lamplighter” is dedicated to the life of Arkhangelsk before the Russian Revolution.
A lamplighter is a person employed to light street lights. In 17-19th centuries, the Arkhangelsk streets were illuminated in this way. The artist Alexander Menukhov is an author of the idea and the sketch; Alexey Maklakov was responsible for technical part.
