The Surkov Residence – is a smart wooden building with a bay-window and carved shutters. Unlike most houses in Archangelsk that have only one decorated facade, this house is decorated on all sides. There were many rooms, mostly ostentatious ones, situated in a suit of rooms. Such residential homes are traditionally called residences. This residence was built in 1851, but decorated only a half century later. Since the renovation was completed, a it has been home to the music school for children called "Harmony". And the person who built the residence was an important Arkhangelsk industrialist A. Surkov. He owed timber mills and breweries.
