Description

     On December 5, 2009, Arkhangelsk received the honorable title "City of Military Glory". In honor of this event, the City of Military Glory Stele, a 12-meter-high granite column topped by the gold-plated state emblem of the Russian Federation, was installed. Affixed to the lower part of the column are symbolic ship bows, signifying that Arkhangelsk is a city of maritime glory.
